Rope access techniques are based on caving and climbing techniques that were developed into a safe system of access for industrial purposes as far back as the 1970's.
The constant evolution of technique and equipment since then has led to the lowest incidence of accidents in the whole access sector.
SG Access are approved Fall Protection installers. All SG Fall Protection technicans are IRATA qualified, for rope access / work at height, and have passed training in the design and safe installation of Fall Protection Systems for roofs and structures.

OHSAS 18001 is the internationally recognised standard for the management of occupational health and safety. This standard can be taken on by organisations wishing to implement formal procedures to reduce risks associated with health and safety at work. The standard is specifically designed to make an organisation's impact on health and safety issues clear. It is also designed to help minimise the risk of accidents and breaches in legal requirements.

ISO 9001 is the internationally recognised standard for an internal Quality Management of an organisation. 'Quality' in this respect refers to the features of a service or product which are required by an organisations customer. The 'Quality Management' of an organisation refers to the actions taken by an organisation's to ensure that the products or services it is providing satisfy its customers' quality requirements and also complies with regulations applicable to those products or services.

Contractors Health and Safety Assessment Scheme (CHAS) is a non-commercial scheme dedicated to completing health and safety pre-qualification assessments to a nationally recognised and accepted threshold standard. CHAS is an established and recognised organisation for health and safety accreditation and health and safety pre-qualification within the UK, and SG Access has gained CHAS accreditation.
SG Access passed Safecontractor assessments and audits in order to gain Safecontractor accreditation.
Safecontractor is an accreditation scheme that assesses the health & safety competency of contractors and service providers. The Safecontractor Charter Standards set down the benchmark against which contractors and service providers are assessed. The Standards cover core elements such as policy, risk assessment and first aid, but also include specific requirements relating to the activity for which accreditation is being sought.
All works undertaken by SG are planned and undertaken in accordance with BS7985:2009 and also ‘Guidelines on the use of rope access methods for industrial purposes’ produced by the Industrial Rope Access Trade Association (IRATA). To this end all team members are fully IRATA trained and certified, from IRATA level 1 operatives through to IRATA level 3 safety supervisors, trained to deal with complex access challenges and rescue situations in an extensive variety of situations, and to implement safe practices to avoid their occurrence.
